Spring show

A Perfect Piece art show and sale started with a photo shoot and a Facebook message between "the Mandy's". I (Mandie Swinehart) had been to the Shawshank Redemption museum for a photo shoot and fell in love with the building. It's history, the brick walls, the old wooden floors, what's not to love. I instantly had a vision of what it could be and messaged Mandy Baldwin about it. I needed someone who shared the vision of what kind of event could take place there. Mandy is the best artist I know, her talent is only outweighed by her kindness. We started by recruiting local artists who worked in various mediums, glass, wood, metal etc. and who also made items that we ourselves wanted to buy.  The only info I gave Mandy was to imagine the venue with Christmas lights, cupcakes, coffee and our items for sale.
What we came up with was well beyond my original idea. We were able to add live music, a bake sale to benefit a local church youth group, Beca house coffee, and a raffle. Our idea was a little different than what most vendors are used to when it comes to a art/craft show. We had one central check out so vendors were able to mingle with guests. It was very important to us to create an environment where the vendors didn't have to stand behind a table like at typical craft shows.

We had an amazing turn out, our customers came out to show support and we were able to meet lots of new customers.
